Carina Daniels

President and Co-founder Carina Daniels specializes in reach: developing and executing strategic communications plans that generate influential coverage and frame the public conversation. She works with Natalie to tell clients’ stories in ways that resonate, and to deliver the right messages to the right audiences.

Since co-founding Story & Reach with Natalie in September 2018, Carina has placed dozens of op-eds and led media outreach efforts resulting in hundreds of stories appearing in outlets including the Associated Press and Reuters wires; The New York Times, the Washington Post and USA Today; CNBC and PBS NewsHour; specialty outlets from CleanTechnica to Inside Philanthropy; and local newspaper, radio and television outlets across the country.

As assistant vice president at Cater Communications, Carina worked with national security and national legislators’ groups to organize tours for retired three- and four-star admirals and generals to speak about the links between energy policy and national security. She coordinated private meetings and public events with politicians, government officials, voters and the media. Working with climate scientists, Carina arranged media tours and desk-side background briefings on topics including the politics of climate change and the connection between climate change and extreme weather.

Carina’s public relations career started with the Think Outside the Bottle campaign at the University of California-Berkeley, where she earned degrees in English Literature and Conservation and Resource Studies. She also gained media relations experience at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland and Pacific Environment, and co-chaired Young Involved Philadelphia’s Communications Committee.

A California native, Carina has lived in Philadelphia and now lives in Chicago, where she loves spending time with her relatives. She enjoys walking in Lincoln Park, her weekly virtual book and movie clubs, and staying in touch with her Big Brothers Big Sisters “little sister” in Philly.
